DNA Microarray

DNA Microarray

One of the first microarray facilities located in an academic laboratory in the country, this facility was established in 2000 via a unique tripartite collaboration between CSIR, the biologics company Biological E, and Amersham, and permits high-throughput analysis of global gene expression profiles. The spotted cDNA arrays were replaced by oligonucleotide array technology around 2008-9, and Affymetrix/Agilent microarray profiling has become a standard method for capturing a rapid view of alterations in the whole transcriptome in response to physiological and pathological alterations in any living system. The facility features analysis on multiple array platforms, with expert bioinformatics assistance for data visualization.
