J.B.S Haldane (1892-1964) was one of the most outstanding scientists of the twentieth century. He came from one of the best-known intellectual families of Britain, the members of which, over several generations, have authored several hundreds of books on a wide variety of subjects. Haldane’s collection of books and reprints was gifted to RRL – the Regional Research Laboratory (now IICT). When CCMB was carved out of IICT the collection was transferred to CCMB.
The Haldane Collection is a treasure of 4,000 books and 17,000 reprints. The books include one signed by Charles Darwin.
